Dr. Roy A. Swann is the founding pastor of Turning Point Church. After years of pastoring in the traditional Methodist church Dr. Swann felt the call to start a church where people were free to worship and praise God.
Dr. Swann is a strong leader, biblical teacher and preacher who relates the bible in relevant and applicable ways to his congregation. He has pastored churches from the east coast to the west coast.
Dr. Swann is from Sanford, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Winston Salem State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He left there and attended Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, receiving the Master of Divinity Degree. He also matriculated at Drake University in Des Moines, IA where he received a Masters Degree in Religious leadership. He went on to attend National University in Los Angeles California and received a teaching credential in elementary education. At the Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago Il,. Dr. Swann received his doctorate of Ministry Degree.
Dr. Swann believes every person deserves a chance to better his or her life by the transforming power of God. And he also believes no matter what state you find yourself in God has a master plan for your life.
Dr. Swann is married to the former Janet Sims and they have two children Reid and Janelle. The family resides in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
